Senior night is the most emotional event of the season. Whether it's a pre-game ceremony or part of the end-of-year banquet, the night belongs to the seniors and their families. Here's a complete script and planning guide to get it right.

Announcer Script Template
Opening
"Good [evening/afternoon] everyone. Thank you for being here to celebrate our senior [sport] athletes and their families.
This night is about honoring the commitment, work, and passion these seniors have brought to our program over the last four years. Each of them has left their mark on this team."
Senior Walk-In Format
As each senior is announced (preferably alphabetically), they walk across a stage or through a tunnel of teammates:
"Our first senior is [name], number [jersey]. [Name] has been a [position] for [years on team] years. [Quick highlight: a big game, a leadership role, a notable moment]. After high school, [name] plans to [college/military/work]. Let's show our appreciation!"
After the walk-in, the senior's parent or guardian stands and is acknowledged.
"Joining [name] tonight are [parent/guardian names]. Thank you for sharing your athlete with us and for all the support over the years."
Coach's Personal Remarks
After the announcer reads the bio, the coach adds a personal 30-60 second memory for each senior. This is the most meaningful part of the night.
Tip: Write these ahead of time. Even two sentences per athlete makes a huge impact. "I'll never forget when [name] dove for that ball in the fifth set against [rival school]. That's the kind of effort that defined their time here."
